MARA ORGANIC BEEF STORY
Mara Organic Beef is owned and operated by fourth-generation farmer Stuart Larsson and family in Mallanganee. The Larsson family had been running a dairy herd since 1948, it was in 1967 that the first beef herd was introduced.
Today their herds are high-quality EU accredited organic beef finished on organic pastures and silage.
Mara Organic Beef produce animals suited to premium market specifications.
The Hereford and Hereford cross herd’s progeny are fattened to a 150kgs–250kgs dressed weight carcase. We also produce organic cows to suit export specifications.
All of the organic pastures are strictly monitored with soil management using composting and compost tea facilities.
Our certified organic cattle and properties are certified by third-party auditors to comply with Australia’s National Standards for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce and the United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program (USDA NOP).
We are also certified in accordance with the IFOAM Program Standard in conformity with the Australian Certified Organic Standard 2019 v1 and in accordance with the International Federation of Agriculture Movements and ISO 17065 accreditation program as accredited by IOAS.
